The Game of Entrepreneurship...

It's Saturday late afternoon in Phoenix...and a scorching 108 degrees or so outside. The house is quiet - the long week before behind me and the complications of multiple deals in the air weighing heavy on my heart. Welcome to the ups and downs in the life of a serial entrepreneur.

We can't quit...where would we go? We've chosen this world of independence and playing without a net to catch our fall. Well, things can drag on and promises made not kept, resulting in deals lost or postponed and our promises made to others must be broken.

Why do we persist? What possible reason do we continue to fight it out against all odds as the bare fisted pugilists in the world of free enterprise???

I'll tell you why, plain and simple, it's what we do. We are the starters, the originators and the warriors in the world of business. It's our money, time, connections, spirit and drive that keeps the economy moving. No one but the entrepreneur could have pioneered this country and made it the greatest in the world. The entrepreneur is now tasked with saving America from the utter ruin that has been put upon her by the corrupt and inept worlds of "Big Business," "Big Banks" and "Big Government" colliding.

So, when the quiet settles in over the weekend like today and the tasks ahead seem so daunting, the obligations of time and money so unsurmountable and hoped-for deals so far away...what does one do? The first thing you have to realize is that events are not conspiring to make you and your business miserable. There is no collusion, just happenstance and if you can examine each elememt of what is facing you, the tasks are far easier to handle. As my father often remarked..."How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time."

Best to all,
