Nick Mawrenko of the PEO, Human Capital Strategies (HCS), came to visit me this week. Nick is a friend of the CEO managers, Sonia and Jim Graham and Club Entrepreneur uses Nick's services and highly recommends them to others. A PEO or a Staff Leasing company takes care of the important but mundane human resources functions and payroll needs of a company, from the one man (or woman) shop to companies with hundreds of employees. Payroll taxes, workman's comp and other benefits that a company can offer its employees are all handled by Nick's company. By using a professional employee service like HCS a business owner is free to concentrate on running their business, can dispense with the need of an HR staff person and department and can make certain that they are in complete compliance with all of the State and Federal laws. HCS takes care of all those headaches for their clients.
According to Nick, HCS, owned by Jason Knight, has been around five years and has around 120 companies with a combined total of 2000 employees under management. The economies of scale of workman's comp, health benefits et al, filter down to the client companies, often booking significant savings to the company. Many times, companies would not be able to offer these benefits to their employees if it weren't for the power of numbers that HCS offers. It's an easy sell, once you understand the process and Nick is a master at explaining what he does.
I learned that HCS uses one of the dreaded "Big Banks" as its depository and they are unhappy with the service. I explained Club E's underwriting of the national backlash of "Move Your Money," which encourages people to move their banking business to local community banks and he's going to speak to Club E's favorite banker, Jonathon Reece of Republic Bank about moving his $18 million account over to him...tomorrow! I've asked Nick to bring his 120 company member roster of clients into the Club E mix and we're going to work together to do just that. Lots of business that we can do together and Nick is just the kind of gentleman I like to work with.
Best to all,
