Greetings,
In the past couple of weeks, the world of Club E has changed in a radical way. What started off as a simple collaboration of like-minded entrepreneurs is soon to be propelled into the National limelight through the dint of being invited to help bail out America, literally.
Some of you are aware of the dramatic unfolding of an opportunity that made itself available to us through my connection with Sue Malone, a Bay-area located financier that is positioned on Obama's Small Business Council Transition Team. Much of this info can be garnered on the attached emails between Jeff Horvath, Kauffman Foundation's Fast Trac president and me in the past couple of years. (see below)
Sue and I spoke at length yesterday and I have made available to her all of our correspondence and collective "group speak" to date. She said we were "spot on" and that she had plans to speak again to GM today and would circle back with action steps there. She also is going to try and make it to our event on Wednesday to meet you all, as well as be available for conference calls to answer specific questions and comment on suggested steps. She is in our camp 100%.
Here' the deal in a nutshell...
We have a collective resource in Club E that is without question, the most significant group of "movers and shakers" ever assembled. Our country is in crises mode and like most of the corporate world, everyone is acting that a deer caught in the headlights of an oncoming car. We entrepreneurs have operated in the state of choas for our entire career and are adept at moving on a dime and taking immediate action, rather than just incessantly meeting and talking about about important matters. Those skill sets are the only thing that will keep America from becoming one of the Third World Nations that we've always tried to help. Now, we have to help ourselves and Club E is going to do that!
Since Sue Malone said we are on the right track, let's continue. Let's also bring in some of our collective partners like the Kauffman Foundation (Jeff and I will speak this week-Meredith please arrange this, thanks) and now Microsoft, through the help of our friend and fellow eFactory member, Dan Willis.
Let's put together a package of offerings that not only includes the Institute for Entrepreneurship's entrepreneurial education offerings, Sue Malone's access to SBA funding programs and the vertical integration of entrepreneurship through Club E and the eFactory, but let's look at adding the following to the mix:
Microsoft's small business solutions through Dan
Richard Otto's array of sustainable energy business opportunities combined with Henry G's resources
Sarit's online education delivery platform
Lee Brandfass's ITEX barter packages as an addition to cash components from the SBA
Tony and Ovi's web design skills
Steve's Angel in action as an ongoing component to raise awareness and capital for the new start-ups
and on and on...
We need a way to collect the various components that comprise our unique opportunity to change history and build America from the ground up.
In order to make this happen, we need organization and direction as well as some resources. Sue has indicated to me that GM has set aside some enormous capital reserves to effect this program and as the providers of this solution, guess who becomes the recipient of the education and re-training funding? So, now all we need to do is assemble the team, as we have started to do, enlarge and consolidate of offerings and move forward.
Who is in?
Best,
Peter

Peter –
It was so good to talk to you yesterday for a few minutes. Sorry we could not talk more – I stepped out of a meeting to not miss your call. Glad to hear you are working on some things in Detroit. As I mentioned, I grew up there and have had many family members work for the big 3 auto industry.
I am working with several in the state of Michigan who will be using the Kauffman Foundation’s FastTrac program. We are in discussions right now to make an announcement of our initiatives. On a side note, to clarify from yesterday (I was on my cell and think I cut out for a moment)…I will be going to Detroit area to work with local organizations and we will be dedicating some resources to help, but I will not literally be setting up full-time in Detroit. I understand the dire need the state faces and what is potentially on the horizon, so we need to expose people to entrepreneurship. For some, this will be a viable option.
I look forward to talking to you next week.
Take care.

Jeff,
Please catch up on many new developments at www.clubefactory.com. Also, check out the attachments, please. We look forward with joining the Kauffman Foundation in helping to rebuild Detroit, when GM (and probably all of the other auto makers) go into bankruptcy in the very near future.
As shared with you briefly this morning, I took a call two nights ago from one of Obama's (transition) Small Business Council members, who I am already working with on the SBA Patriot Express and Community Express Loan programs for our Club E membership (btw, we closed 45 loans totaling $1MM in the past 30 days). She informed me that GM will soon go under, leaving thousands of auto workers without jobs. Because of her familiarity with my efforts in Education (College of Entrepreneurship), Collaboration (Club E) and Implementation (eFactory), she has positioned us as being instrumental in helping to stave off the severe repercussions of the pending bankruptcy.
What that means specifically is that the Governor of Michigan, the Mayor of Detroit and the Executive Committee of GM have agreed in principal to discuss letting my collection of initiatives be instituted in Detroit in order re-educate the soon-to-be displaced GM workers into entrepreneurial careers, through my College of Entrepreneurship's Bachelors, Masters and Certificate programs, which I've developed and implemented in three universities to date. (see latest attachment)
Additionally, the establishment of multiple Club E chapters in the Detroit area will bring support and collaboration to these fledgling entrepreneurs and our first Michigan-based eFactory is to be installed in GM's 100,000' state-of-the-art "campus" in Bloomfield Hills, to house, support and incubate all of the fledgling entrepreneurs from my program. The SBA will then provide the Community Express loans (6% interest, 10 year amortization, no collateral) to fund these newly minted entrepreneurial dreams.
We have been tasked to create a "White Paper" on the structure and execution of our plan to help Detroit which will will then use as the blueprint to try and help the and the rest of of our beleaguered country.
I look forward to our conversation next week regarding working side-be-side with Kauffman's efforts.
Best regards,
Peter
